Peru ARTIST Ruifeng Zhou

A Peruvian realist painter narrates the story of an American explorer through oil paintings, unveiling the visage of a mysterious ancient city.
Born in Peru in 1937, he went to study in China at the age of 12 and graduated from the Department of Geography at Zhongshan University in 1965. Exceptionally artistically gifted, he was a self-taught painter whose works vividly depict scenes from South America and Southeast Asia; simple yet touching, they possess a profound artistic charm.
In July 1911, American explorer Hiram Bingham discovered the ancient city of Machu Picchu in Peru, sparking a global sensation. Enchanted by its timeless grandeur and breathtaking scenery, Mr. Zhou immortalized this majestic beauty on his canvas.
