FAMOUS ARTIST Wenzhi Zhang

Artist Wenzhi Zhang.
Born in Guangzhou, China, she holds a Master’s degree from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and a Ph.D. from Seoul National University of Science and Technology, South Korea. She immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s and currently resides in New York City.
Her contemporary ceramic artworks Chinese Clan and Life · Ocean have been included in U.S. higher education textbooks. Her publication Duality is cataloged in the Library of Congress database. Her contemporary sculpture Spirit of the Forest is featured in Art History of China in the 20th Century. Her lacquer painting Red & Black · Gold & Silver appears in the lacquer volume of Complete Collection of Modern Chinese Fine Art.
Her contemporary ceramic and sculptural works are collected by the National Art Museum of China and Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, respectively. Her contemporary natural lacquer painting Holy Script · Special Edition was acquired by the Global Marketing Director of Sotheby’s International.
Her works have been published in more than 100 magazines, books, and newspapers worldwide. What has drawn the most attention, however, is her experience lecturing at over a dozen international universities.
