Ying Dai  Solo Exhibition: Lines of Infinity

The works of Ying Dai are exhibited alongside major pieces by Yayok Kusama and Atsuko Tanaka.

Ying Dai’s art is defined by layered processes and cyclical structures. She blends Eastern rice paper, silk with Western oil, acrylic and pigments. Through repeated layering and gestural brushwork, she creates rich textures. Spirals, flowing lines and varying density symbolize energy flow, life cycles and the connection between body, nature and cosmos. Her work balances control and emotion, achieving a tense yet organic vitality.

Ying Dai is a cross-media artist born in Sichuan, China, and based between Beijing and New York. Trained in Chinese calligraphy and ink painting since age five, she blends Eastern spirituality with contemporary art.

Her work centers on female empowerment and cultural identity. She created the conceptual framework Earth Mother Matrix, arguing that feminist art should move beyond basic rights to constructive spiritual creation.

Using spirals, layered painting and organic imagery, she visualizes energy flow, life cycles and cultural evolution.
